Storytelling workshops

Storytelling …

… how do I get an exciting and suspensefull story?
And what is really exciting?

These and other questions are dealt (and answered) within our workshops and seminars:

  • What does “(digital) storytelling” actually mean?
  • What kinds of stories are there and which stories are suitable for which goals?
  • And which media and presentation techniques are suitable for which stories?
  • How are stories perceived and how do they actually work?

In small groups (about 8 to 12 people) actual and fundamental topics are discussed:

  • the more practical topics in workshop form
  • the more theoretical topics in seminar form

Of course, every participant receives all material used and presented in the Wokshops/ seminars.

And every event includes a snack (or coffee), because of course communication, networking and fun should not come to short!

Current topics and dates can be found here: News

Seminars …

… are designed half-day and consist of up to three units. Each of these units is about 1.5 hours long and deals with the basic concepts and theories of the respective topic.

  • Duration: about 8h (all day)
  • Course: Seminaristic with high interactive content:
  • First, the thematic core is presented.
  • This then is followed by a “reflection” in which we enter the discussion, discuss the content from our individual points of view and discuss potential challenges from our own environment.
  • Content: generally more theoretical foundations for practical topics:
    • Media- & Interaction psychology,
    • easy to understand theory von Hitchcock bis Syd Field
    • something more specific theory from Aristotle to Vladimir Propp
    • the implementation of such theory in our own stories
    • and lots more

Workshops …

… expand the seminar format by deepening the theoretical units in extensive practical work (with new tools, devices, software applications, etc.).

As well as our seminars, our workshops will be completed by a reflection at the end of the event. Here we enter into the discussion in which we discuss the presented content from our individual points of view and discuss potential challenges from our own environment.

  • Duration: about 8h (all day)
Course: seminar introduction, followed by units with a lot of independent, in-depth work (subject-specific)
  • Workshops start in the morning with a (short) introduction to the theoretical background.
  • In the afternoon they will be deepened in an extensive practical discussion (with new tools, devices, software applications, etc.).
  • Content: the practical implementation of theoretical topics:
    • Media psychology in stories
    • How do I build my own story – purposeful and media compatible?
    • How do I translate my story as a classic (photo) book?

    • How do I translate my story as an interactive multimedia application: Part 1: Workflow tools

    • How do I translate my story as an interactive multimedia application: Part 2: Scripting and Programming
